12 Tags of 2015 "February"

Good morning all.

Domestic Goddess duties all fulfilled...today I can play!

I eventually managed to set some time aside at the end of last week to make my February tag.

As in January I've had to do some improvisation...and of course after finishing I found loads of things I could have added! Ephemera is from Melissa Frances. Nos 1 & 4 are burlap stickers which I've swished with barn door DI. Words, arrow and heart charm are from TH. Frame is cut from a Spellbinders die as are the two felt hearts and the ampersand (not sure which way up it's supposed to go lol). Lace, ribbon and photo corner are from my stash.

Shabby Chic Calendar

Good morning all.

I think we had everything weather-wise yesterday, a day to stay at home! Made a start on the tidying and cleaning ready for the Christmas tree going up.

I spoke to my Aunt and Uncle the other night and my cousin is much improved but will probably need to go through the operation again as they found a second valve which needed replaced during the first op but couldn't go ahead without his permission...the first valve will have to be replaced too so that both valves are the same!! You couldn't make it up!

A calendar to share today.

Made with a Melissa Frances kit to which I've added butterflies, small flower ribbons from my stash. Ivy die cut is a Signature die from Joanna Sheen. Border punch from Martha Stewart. Backing paper from K&Co. Calendar blank tab from Hobbycraft.

Challenges entered:
Decorate to Celebrate - anything 3D
Penny's Paper Crafty - anything but Christmas
All Crafts Challenge - anything but a card
Not Just Cards - anything goes
Sugar Creek Hollow - no cards

No Rest for the Wicked

Good morning all.

We've enjoyed a lovely restful three weeks away with mostly gorgeous weather but all good things must come to an end! My niece got engaged last month when she and her partner were away on holiday so I didn't find out until after we had left home so I had to spend yesterday making her a card. My sister told me she was planning a shabby chic wedding so that set the tone for the card and luckily she loved it. So I've another set of Wedding Invites to do for next summer....I've also been told by my sister I can organise the wedding as she hasn't a clue what "shabby chic" is!!

So it looks like I'm going to be a busy bee for the next year at least!

I think a trip to the supermarket is on the cards for today as the cupboards are bare!! Then I need to get some DT work done and get some birthday cards made.

Backing paper is from Crafty Individuals; bird cage and bird dies are from Ann Marie Designs; heart dies are from Spellbinders; border punch from Martha Stewart; butterfly and corner from Melissa Francis; lace, ribbon, string and button from my stash.

I'm very pleased with the final card as shabby chic isn't really my forte but this one came together quite peaceably thank goodness!

Whoopsi Daisy - make your own embellishments

Good morning all, I hope this rain rains itself out this week before my holidays start! I can't believe I reached 300 followers over the weekend, a big welcome to Sue hope you enjoy your visits here.
I've got some great news this morning, Linnie has asked me to stay on at Whoopsi Daisy and I'm now a fully fledged Daisy Diva :)
It's time for another challenge at  Whoopsi Daisy  and this week it's team A's turn to share their inspiration with you. The theme this week is to make your own embellishments,

Using a pre-coloured image from the Daisy and Friends CD, die cut and mounted onto two scalloped mats. Backing paper is from a Melissa Frances pad and I've layered up the pennants to add some dimension. Border punch from Martha Stewart. Doily, ribbons, pearls, buttons, sentiment and flowers from my stash. I've made my own flower using a felt shape, crocheted flower and a button and also made an mulit layered  bow on my mini bowdabra.

Do pop over to the challenge blog to see the inspiration from the rest of the team and remember if you use a Whoopsi Daisy image you could win 2 image sheets, 1 sheet will be awarded to a winner using any other image.

Whoopsi Daisy - Bling

It's time for another challenge at  Whoopsi Daisy  and this week it's team A's turn to share their inspiration with you. The theme this week is Bling. I've used an image from sheet #351.

Image is coloured with promarkers then fussy cut and mounted with silicon gel onto two Marianne Design dies. Backing paper is from 5th Avenue pad by Melissa Frances. Card is finished with a seam binding bow, sentiment, butterfly, pearls and a floral embellishment from my stash. The small bow is made using ribbon recycled from a clothes label with a gemstone in the middle.
A shot to show the dimension on the card.
