Good Morning

Feeling a lot happier this morning.......had one heck of a day yesterday trying to find car insurance for the lads trip to Mongolia. I made a point of telling Gary's insurance company in February when we put the car on the road what it was to be used for and was told that was fine......yesterday I was told Gary wouldn't be covered under the policy to do the trip!! Grrrr.......anyway many phone calls and much internet searching later we finally got two of them covered to drive...at a price, but it's worth it for the piece of mind.

So no time for crafting yesterday.......think the door is going to be shut for the holidays now while I get the house sorted, laundry and packing done and the numerous other things that still need doing before we go!

I'm sharing a card today that I made for a recent Joanna Sheen competition which I haven't shown yet.

The competition was for a spring card using an image from the Jayne Netley Mayhew 2 CD set. Backing paper was from Daisy and Friends CD (I think), PATP from Martha Stewart, corner dies from Spellbinders. Ribbon, lace, button, stick pins, mirri card and pearls from my stash.

I didn't win any prizes for it but was very pleased with how it turned out.
As this was a competition card I'm not entering it into any challenges today.

Whoopsi Daisy - make your own embellishments

Good morning all, I hope this rain rains itself out this week before my holidays start! I can't believe I reached 300 followers over the weekend, a big welcome to Sue hope you enjoy your visits here.
I've got some great news this morning, Linnie has asked me to stay on at Whoopsi Daisy and I'm now a fully fledged Daisy Diva :)
It's time for another challenge at  Whoopsi Daisy  and this week it's team A's turn to share their inspiration with you. The theme this week is to make your own embellishments,

Backing paper is from a Melissa Frances pad and I've layered up the pennants to add some dimension. Border punch from Martha Stewart. Doily, ribbons, pearls, buttons, sentiment and flowers from my stash. I've made my own flower using a felt shape, crocheted flower and a button and also made an mulit layered  bow on my mini bowdabra.

Guest Design Spot at Bugaboo

Good morning all. Less than a week until my holibobs :)
We're very lucky at Crafting for all Seasons to have Bugaboo sponsoring us twice a month and we get the chance to be a Guest Designer for them. Today it's my turn and the challenge is Anything Goes.
I chose this cute image called FanSBbeach to work with.

Image is coloured with promarkers, die cut with a nestie circle and mounted onto a scalloped circle. Papers are from a sadly neglected Tatty Ted pack. Fancy edges are a Spellbinders Edgeability set. Ribbons and fibres are tied using my mini bowdabra. Card is finished with some gems, a sentiment and a starfish button from my stash.

Faerie Poppet

A very good morning to you all, I hope you've had a good weekend. After several days of not making any cards I finally made it into the craft room over the weekend and did some creating. I posted a Christmas card yesterday and have two DT cards to show later this week. Today's share is the card I've made  for the little girl next door who's one today.

I've used a gorgeous Faerie Poppets decoupage from Crafter's Companion simply mounted onto a white pearlised card mat which I've punched with a Martha Stewart PATP and added lace and ribbon to the bottom. The bow was made on my bowdabra and is finished with a button from Crafty Ribbons. Base card is an 8 x 8 lilac pearlised card. The sentiments are computer generated and pearl hearts are from my stash. I've deliberately left the card quite plain to let the image take centre stage.
And some side views to show the dimension on the decoupage.

Sell out news!

It's been a beautiful day here although quite cool. Really felt I should have been out in the fresh air but needed to make Mum's card for tomorrow! I'm pleased to say all the cards I made for eldest to sell were gone by lunchtime today so at least all the work was worthwhile.
I treated myself to the Faerie and Paintbox Poppet decoupage sheets from Crafter's Companion this week and I've used the Star Magnolias Faeries image for Mum's card.

The image is gorgeous and the die cut decoupage is a dream to work with. I've mounted the image on a new fancy rectangle nestie. Backing paper is from a K&Co pad which I've had forever; fan punch from Martha Stewart; ribbon and pearls from my stash. Hat pins from Joanna Sheen and heart button from Crafty Ribbons.  Pink and green matting layers are Papermania. Sentiment is computer generated.

A close up of the bow treatment which I did on the mini bowdabra.

A shot showing the dimension on the decoupage. Inside was decorated to compliment the front.

As the finished card was too big for an envelope I made a matching bag using two sheets of the backing paper.
I hope she likes it as much as I do!

Challenges entered:
House of Gilli - colours of spring
Little Darlings Challenge - colours of spring
Delightful Challenges - someone special
DYSU - favourite colour (pink)
Paper Play - bingo (flowers, stitching (on button) and button)
Crafts 4 Eternity - colour combo
Joanna Sheen - spring/Easter
Really Reasonable Ribbons - spring + ribbons
That Craft Place - anything goes
Top Tip Tuesday - Mother's Day
My Top Tip for Tuesday would be to use your anti static bag to dust an intricate die before using it for the first time this makes releasing the die cut easier.

Crikey another two weeks have passed and it's time again for us Christmas Clubbers to show our wares. Lizzie picked the theme this time and she wants to see more than one fold, this is my creation.

White stickles finishes off the fur trim and the snowflakes.

Spent most of this week getting things straightened and cleaned behind the decorators, can't believe how much dust there was. So consequently I haven't spent much time in the craft room.
I did make this though.

Using up a leftover image from a card made recently and some offcuts out of the bit box. Finished with some lace, ribbon bow made on the mini bowdabra and a sentiment from my stash. Image is from Joanna Sheen's Vintage Christmas CD, border punch from Martha Stewart.

Challenges entered:
One Stop Craft - create own background
Christmas Card Challenges - Christmas card
Pixie Crafty Snippets - challenge #8
Whimsical Wednesday - time flies
