TYPOGRAFIA Motivate Blog Hop

Good afternoon all.

I'm Guest Designing over at STAMPlorations today, we have a blog hop going on and you won't want to miss it. You'll find all the details in this post.

Using the new TYPOGRAFIA Motivate stamps (you're going to love these!) here is my inspiration.

Using Persistence, I thought this stamp was the perfect addition to this canvas I created with a photo taken last year on our trip to New Zealand. I've had the kit to create the canvas for some time and now I know how easy it is I must do some more....although note to self - heat embossing on plastic canvas was not the best idea I've ever had!

My second project uses What You Get, this stamp reminded me of the WW11 posters Your Country Needs You so I wanted to create something simple and to the point. Using black card, gold mirri card and gold embossing and a few dies and I was happy with the result. This may be used for a card topper, or to decorate a notebook but would also make a good fridge magnet.

My final project is a small canvas which I coloured with gelatos to try to resemble a sunrise, then added features from the Clouds stencil with textured paste. The saying was stamped onto tissue and heat embossed then attached with medium gel.

Commenting closes on Monday, October 16.

Prize: One commenter will win her choice of 3 Typografia Motivate stamps. The winner will be randomly drawn from all comments left on the STAMP blog and participating designers' blogs.

Winner will be announced on Tuesday, October 17.

Paint Outside the Lines

Good afternoon all.

Arrived home last night after a lovely week away....we had wonderful weather all week!  Wednesday I endured five hours at the Tank Museum before we headed to Somerset to stay with hubby's Aunt. On Thursday we meandered our way to Gloucestershire, enjoying lunch and a canal walk at Bradford on Avon enroute. We had a lovely meal at the hotel on Thursday evening to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary. We really enjoyed our tour around Highgrove Gardens on Friday followed by a champagne afternoon tea....then began the journey from hell up to the Lakes...a four and a half hour journey which took us seven and a half hours. The traffic was horrendous!! I think everyone was headed to Blackpool for the firework display!!

My turn to provide some Stencil Sunday inspiration over at STAMPlorations today. I've created a canvas which will hopefully inspire you all to get your stencils out.

I started with an 8 x 8 canvas and painted it with gesso, then used gelatos to create my colour wash. All stencilling has been done with Sparkle Medium. Sentiments were stamped onto tissue and attached with gel medium. Butterflies were stamped and heat embossed with black EP then coloured with DI pens. Lines were added using gesso and a credit card.

Products used:
ARTploration Stencils - Flutterby, Some Birds, Bloom Silhouettes and Retro Circles

Please come and join the September Mixed Media Challenge you have until the end of the month to get messy and share your non-card mixed media projects. ATC and Craft Room Makeover

Good morning all. What is everyone getting up to today? I think it will be a quiet one here...lots of crafting now I have space to move! I've lots of new stuff still waiting to be put through it's paces.

It was a lovely day here yesterday but very, very cold so I tucked myself in the craft room and made some progress with future DT projects. I managed this little ATC to share too though.

Kraft card ATC painted with gesso then coloured with gelatos. Texture added down LHS with glass bead glitter gel. JOFY stamp (JM25) stamped onto tissue paper with Memento and coloured with promarkers. Love sentiment stamped and grungy dots stamped on top. Two hearts which were die waste added top right.  Grunged the edges with black gelato then I used some picket fence spray stain to finish off.
I entering this at Paper Artsy where the challenge is "Fragile Papers". I was inspired by Clare who used tissue paper on her Journal Tag, although in a completely different way! Loved all of the inspiration this fortnight but I was short on time and the scale adapted easily to an ATC.

This is roughly what my craft room used to look like..it was too much of a mess to take before pictures!! These pictures were taken just after the room was fitted out a few years ago. I did change things a bit and had got rid of the pine desk and replaced it with a plastic trolley when I no longer needed a printer in there.

This is what it looked like on Thursday after my big sort out.

All my ribbons now hanging on the back of the door. Moving into the room the trolleys and 2 extra new sets of drawers house mostly mixed media findings and bits to recycle along with my punches.
Opposite wall...my stamps, embossing folders and some dies sit on top of drawers housing glue, card, aqua tints and embossing powders (2 extra sets of drawers here). Above this I have a rack for my ink pads.

The window wall...large nesties and 6" paper on the shelves...my work space.... with lots of drawer space beneath (metal drawers are new)...magnetic die storage and large stamp sets. I got rid of the ribbon racks and now have some wall space for displaying finished goods.

Back wall...more work space...loads of drawers (2 extra sets here too) with space above for storing boxes and stuff...my promarkers and a little workspace for colouring. I had a paper rack where the two canvases are on the wall but have taken it down too. There is another higher shelf which houses empty cardboard boxes, printer paper and large card blanks....but mainly empty boxes!!
So as you can see I did manage to use all six sets of drawers hubby bought...and here's me thinking two sets would be enough!!

Enjoy your day!
