Poppies

Good morning all.

I think my senior moments are getting out of control...I sent hubby to the orthodontist with Lora yesterday after school when the appointment is quite clearly written in the diary for today...oops!!

I managed some more crafting yesterday, here is what I made.

I was mooching through all my digi stamps a few days ago and decided I wanted to colour up these poppies from Delicious Doodles. I have used the image once before but I left it uncoloured. Coloured with promarkers before being die cut. Dies all from Spellbinders; paper from Me to You; sentiment, lace, bow and charm from my stash.

I've spent some time trawling the net for promarker colour combinations as I always find it difficult to pick the right shades to blend...Letraset have a brilliant hints and tips section...why haven't I visited it before. I love how this image turned out :) I've decided to add the colours used to my posts so I have a record for future reference!

(Promarker colours used: Poppy, Crimson and Burgundy; Forest Green, Pine and Meadow Green)

Christmas Challenges (with sketches) #88

Good morning all.
Had a lovely day on Monday, lunch with my sister after the wedding invites were all sorted - I also got a CD of all the official wedding photos from July, over 600 of them so that should keep me busy getting my favourites all scrapped! Then visited my sister in law over the road and finally my Mum and another sister before driving home into the sunset!
The dog went to have her puppy making bits doctored yesterday, so she's feeling a bit sorry for herself poor thing!

It's time for another challenge over at CCWS and we hope you're playing along with us this year and stocking up on those Christmas cards and projects. It's the turn of the Snow Angels to inspire you this week and Janneke has designed the sketch. We are being sponsored by Delicious Doodles.

I've used this gorgeous Christmas Lantern image from Delicious Doodles, coloured with promarkers and die cut with a fancy rectangle from Spellbinders. Papers are all from Papermania. Sentiment and pearls are from my stash.

Christmas Crafting (with sketches) #49

It's time for our next challenge over at CCWS and we hope you're playing along with us this year and stocking up on those Christmas cards and projects. It's the Snow Angels turn this week and it was Miranda's turn to design the sketch this time. We are being sponsored by Delicious Doodles and the Design Team were given some images to work with.

My image is called Little Angel which I digitally pieced using papers from Crafty Ann's, then touched up with promarkers and stickles after printing. My papers and elements all came from a kit called Christmas Around the World. I finally got my printer to work and managed to print and make this card in time for the challenge. Card is finished with some gems, stickles, a poinsettia and a sentiment from my stash.

Hi! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. It's a lovely day here but a tad on the chilly side.
I finally got around to making some cards last night and managed three (two of which fought all the way and I'm not overly happy with the outcome of either) and this one which came together in about 15 minutes!

The image is from Delicious Doodles, die cut with a Spellbinders oval nestie and mounted onto a scalloped nestie. The gorgeous lace is from Joanna Sheen and comes in three different colours - I had to have all three! Ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

Joanna Sheen - flower power
Cutie Pie Challenge - monochromatic
Crazy Amigo - flowers
Divas by Design - monochromatic

Trick or Treat

Well after all the LIM cards this week I thought I'd bring you something completely different. I don't really
"do" Halloween as a rule but there are some gorgeous digi images out there and I won this cute Pumpkin Witch from Delicious Doodles. I decided to make a decoration for the house as DD is going to have a Halloween party with a few of her friends - hopefully the kitchen will have been pulled apart and put back together by then.

The main image has been digitally layered onto a free backing sheet from Jak Heath and printed onto pearlised paper and coloured with promarkers then highlighted with a gelly roll pen and mounted onto a scalloped nestie rectangle. The backing papers front and back are freebies from Bearly Mine (I've used a Martha Stewart punch on the striped one). I've used Grand Nestie scalloped circles to cut the black base and purple and copper mirri card layers. The front is finished with some flowers which I've distressed with TH black soot, lots of lovely purple fibres, a button and the letters for "treat" are "Halloween Felt Alpha" from Raspberry Road.
The back has been decorated with black ribbon, a button, some glittery monsters (from Hobbycraft) and the letters for "trick" as before. I won the pumpkin digi too from Prairie Fairy and it has been coloured in promarkers. The bat is a freebie from Dude Time Doodles and he's been coloured with promarkers and I've added a felt top hat from my stash.  I've used gorgeous orange ribbon to hang it with.
I still need a spider to finish this off - should have kept the bl**dy big one running across my kitchen floor yesterday lol.

This is my first attempt at making something purely decorative and I've rather enjoyed making it - I may get some more made before the party (I've got a whole month to do it!!) but just in case we bought some bits at M&S yesterday (hangs head in shame lol).

Thanks for your visit today and I hope you like what you see.
