Christmas Card Club "Snowy Trees"

Good morning all.

Still battling away trying to get the house ready to move into. Managed to move some stuff into the craft room but not a lot! Trying to get all the trades coordinated is a nightmare....I'm never moving again, not am I going to refit a kitchen!!! Please remind me I said that if I show any signs of doing either! We'll get there eventually but it's driving me nuts at the moment.

We said a sad farewell to my Aunty on Tuesday...a very small funeral as at 93 she'd outlived most of her contemporaries. Five out of nine of my cousins were there and the eldest did a lovely eulogy. It was great to catch up as we don't see each other often these days. The weather was lovely too which always seems to lift the mood on an otherwise sad occasion.

Two weeks have passed since our last Christmas Card Club Challenge, this time it was Christine's turn to pick the challenge and she's asked to see "Snowy Trees". Here is my effort:

The stamp is from Visible Image, stamped with versamark and heat embossed with white EP, then inked with DI. This was another piece lying on my desk so I die cut it with my Lawn Fawn squares and simply matted and layered onto my card front and finished off with a gemstone.

You'll find a list of the other girls in my sidebar if you'd like to see their makes too.

  1. Beautiful card Carol. You must be living a nightmare. I am trying to organise my craft room and that is bad enough. The loft space needs my attention too, so I dread to think what it must be like packing and moving. Hugs Rita xxx

  2. Sorry to hear of the loss of your auntie. Loving the softness of this pretty snow tree. Like the idea that you embossed with white, then went back over with the DI. Also like the script background. Good luck with the new house. It will all come together eventually. TFS & Hugs

  7. I love the stamp youhave used Carol. It's perfect for the challenge and makes a great card. Before we moved to Oxfordshire in 1978 we used to move approx every two years with John's job so never had chance to accumulate stuff. Now I absolutely dread the thought of ever having to move! The house, loft, shed etc - all full and overflowing ... lol! You'll get there in they end I'm sure. Hugs Christine xx

  8. A fabulous card Carol, such a pretty design.
I think moving house is a little like childbirth, once you have moved in you will soon forget the the pain of getting everything done!

  12. Moving can be quite tedious I know. We moved about a year ago and I still am not really settled.
Your card is lovely - it has a muted vintage feel to it. Would understated elegance be a good way to describe your card? Really a beauty!

  13. Hi Carol what a lovely Christmas card, great soft colour palette.
The move will be totally worth it when you get all sorted and have everything where you want it. Then you'll start decorating all over again!

    Keep smiling, hugs Erika. x

  16. This is really lovely, Carol! Those are my fave square dies too...

I have been absent from club for so long. Just blogging cards I have on hand that were never posted. No tome to craft now as Mum is 92 and has had a heart attack and then got pneumonia after she was released from hospital. Then managed to fall after she made it home from that! Poor lady...she has been in hospital 5 times in the last 6 or 7 weeks...and is still in at the mo. Looks like she will have to go into log term care now. So there has been lots of trips to visit her (5 hours away) and soon we will bneed to go and arrange her move and take care to organize her house for eventual sale.
Funny how life is can sometimes get so full and yet the time spent is so rewarding.

Good luck on your new house move. I do know what you mean about a kitchen remodel...did that at my last house. Had to have temporary plywood counters made as the new Silastome ones were delayed about 6 weeks!

    Hugs
    Maureen
