Winter Birds

Good morning all.

Yesterday can only be described as dreich, I don't think it got light all day. I hate it when you have to have the lights on during the day in order to see what you're doing! The sewing box project is progressing and almost ready for decorating.

An origami box to share today. In preparation for Christmas I folded a few of these the other night in front of the computer when my craft room desk was covered with wet paintwork. I managed to complete this one yesterday.

A video tutorial can be found on my tutorials page. I must say I found the hot gun a boon for sticking down the flaps.

I've used a 12x12 sheet of Tilda Winter Bird double sided paper to make my box. I love the colours of this pad...winter themed but not just for Christmas. The pink pearlised card is scraps leftover from wedding no 2. Dies from Spellbinders. The little bows have been tied on a fork using pink organza (also leftover from the wedding) and some narrow turquoise silk ribbon from Crafty Ribbons. I've used two matching brads from Tilda and some plain white flowers and pearls from my stash to decorate the lid.

I tend not to decorate mine too much as I'm sure they end up in the bin once emptied! I think they will be filled with Baileys truffles in time for Christmas.

  16. This is so pretty.Your presents are going to be so nicely presented!

I know what you mean about the light. We have that big front porch and as much as i like it, covered porches make the front room weem dark as they shade the light...light that is scarce here in the rainy, dreary winter days. Lights on here too!
