Good afternoon all. Sorry I'm being such a bad blogger at present, hoping to resume some sort of normality soon!!
Our old house went on the market at the end of last week and we had our first two viewings this morning, so fingers crossed we get a quick sale.
I'm sure someone has stolen a few pages off my calendar this year (perhaps the same gremlin who's stolen the blog lists off my sidebar!!)...it can't possibly be October already. As it's the first Sunday we have the start of our Mixed Media Challenge over at STAMPlorations where we invite you to participate and show us how you've used your stencils on anything mixed media but a card. I've made a canvas for my inspiration piece.
I started by painting a grungy background with several shades of acrylic paint and my brayer, once dry I used some the Mixed Media Elements stamps with Archival inks to add some detail.
Then it was time to get out one of my favourite stencils...Happy Flowers (large). I used Sparkle Medium on the stems and once dry I replaced the stencil and used Radiant Gels for the blooms. After drying thoroughly I applied some TH Distress Collage Medium over the canvas. The quote stamps comes from a brand new set called Life in Full Colour...which arrived in the post yesterday!
Do pop over to the blog to see what the other girls have made, you won't be disappointed!
Your canvas looks fantastic Carol. Great autumn colours and I love your flowers with the sparkly stem. It's a great piece. Barbxx
