A trio of ATCs

We have been tricked and treated all evening and all that's left are some peanuts and cinder toffee! I have to say all the kids were very polite, they had some great costumes and some very corny jokes!
Didn't think I had anything to post today but then I remembered I still had these ATCs to enter in a challenge.

The frame is off an ATC backer from FGS Creative Designs Ltd and the monograms are a font called Floral Caps Nouveau, all the backing papers are from Crafty Ann's. Everything is printed direct to card stock.

Challenges entered:
Wicked Wednesday ATC - set of three

Crafting When We Can #5 Halloween and/or anything but a card

Only one more sleep before all the ghosts, ghouls and witches come out to play so this time at CWWC we'd like to see your Halloween creations or if Halloween isn't your thing anything but a card. We are being sponsored by The Poodles Parlour and the DT were given images to work with, I was given JoJo Halloween:

I opted to make a treat bag. I'd made a pile of bags several weeks ago with BP from Bearly Mine and this was the last one needing decorated - couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the image with it's dotty hat, this paper was obviously meant for it. Image is coloured with promarkers, cut out and mounted onto a nestie oval and scalloped oval die from my bit box. Bag is filled with treats and tied with 2 strands of bakers twine twisted together then finished off with a flower and ticket - leftovers from a Crafter's Companion download.
Please pop over to the challenge blog to see my team mates creations, you won't be disappointed.

Use it Tuesday - orange, black and purple
Delightful challenges - purple, orange, green black

Seeing Stars

Good morning all. Had to rise early today to let the plasterer in so had an early start crafting while everyone else slept. Checked out the new challenge at Less is More and found the ladies were looking for stars this week. A quick, simple card thought I - the design I've used a couple of times already and all I had to do was a bit of die cutting and stamp the star. Well this star was not for stamping - this must be my fifth attempt and it's still not perfect and the gold ink looks awful in the photo!

Smallest Grand Nestie square was die cut in white and a bauble shape cut out the centre, matted onto gold mirri card. Smaller bauble was stamped with a star image from Creative Expressions in gold and mounted on 3d foam. Finished with a small gold bow.

Challenges entered:
Less is More - stars
Pixie Cottage - go for gold
Simon says Stamp - anything goes
Bah! Humbug! - die cuts
Card Makin Mamas - die cuts

Well must go and get rid of some builder's dust from upstairs and sort the dirty washing ready to load this evening. Catch you all later.

Aud Sentiments #40 A Funny Card

Another two weeks have passed and we've loved seeing your winter projects but it's time for a new challenge at Aud Sentiments and this time the theme is "A Funny Card". We are being sponsored by Bugaboo and the DT were given images to work with. I've chosen to use the Stella Witch and if the broom fits images.

The image and sentiment have been digitally layered onto a free background from Jak Heath then then cut out with a circle nestie. I've reprinted the image and fussy cut after I've coloured it with promarkers. The black scalloped mat is handmade paper from Costco (rarely been used before) and has lovely metallic flecks through it, I've used the same paper for making the flower - 3 scalloped circles, dampened and scrunched then sewn together with a button and sprayed with glitter spray, all cut on the Grand Caliber (available from Scrapalicious). Card is finished with two bows and some pearls.
Do pop over to the challenge blog to see the inspiration from my team mates.

Hopefully I'm off to the SECC tomorrow for the day to do some craft shopping and meet some crafting friends. Typically all the train times have changed and the direct one in the morning gets in too early now so I'll have to change at Edinburgh, however I can get a direct one home at a sensible time.
Thought I'd better post this tonight before I miss some of the challenges!

Christmas Card Tally

Having been reminded by Hazel this morning about my ticker being out of date I took time out to tally up my Christmas cards and have the grand total of 157 made (still have most of my inserts to do though :( - New Year's resolution to finish my cards inside at the time of making! ). Must get some labels ordered for the backs so I can send some of my extras off to charity before it's too late to sell them!
Just worked out that I will make at least another 20 Christmas projects between now and then for challenges and DT work so think I'll start doing some gift bags and/or tags instead of cards for a change.
I have to say it's been lovely making all my cards with no pressure instead of the usual rush in November/December and I won't be needing to give my family recycled cards again this year!

Polka Dots

Running later than expected with my first LIM entry this week. Saturday I struggled with a migraine, I tried crafting after tea but my mojo up and left home. Sunday we went out for lunch then went relative visiting so it was early evening when we got home. Luckily by that time my mojo had wandered back and I got a few cards made before bedtime.

This uses Sissix and Cuttlebug embossing folders, main image is layered onto black card. Card is finished with polka dot ribbon, two bows and a button with bakers twine (button and ribbon I won recently at Pretty Little Ribbon Shop). I've used the swiss dots folder to emboss the snowman and Christmas tree by hand.

Happy Halloween

Well the house is all restructured, so just waiting for the plasterer, plumber and electrician to do their bit next week then my new kitchen can be fitted :) The design has been finalised today as well so it's all go, go, go! This does of course mean we've got to cope with minimal cooking facilities for probably the best part of another two weeks - think microwave, deep fat fryer and bbq - let's hope it stays dry! We've switched the power back on in the utility room tonight so I'm catching up on the washing while I can.
I made this last night:

Another Halloween treat bag made using an image I made in the new Digi Stamp Designer at Pink Cat Studio coloured with promarkers. The bag is made from a backing paper from Bearly Mine. The tag is a beer mat covered with paper from Crafter's Companion. I've printed the Happy Halloween haunted house from Stamper's Best onto acetate. Flowers from Crafter's Companion download. Tag is attached to the bag with a ribbon.

The image is coloured with promarkers and the music sheet has been distressed with tea dye DI. I've decoupaged the collage to give the card dimension and layered it onto gold textured mirri card.

Stickers

Another day at home! Kitchen planner arriving later so fingers crossed. The new kichen/dining room space is looking good though and it's going to be worth all the hassle and there really hasn't been too much mess. My craft room alterations have been cancelled though although they have taken out a sloped wall to make a proper corner so now I am going to fit it out with some new units instead of putting it back the way it was. May have to spend some time in Ikea.com this afternoon!
Here's another card I made earlier:

Red mat scored with my box maker, green scalloped nestie square with vellum square attached, 4 small inchie squares cut from red and green BP from Papermania. Stickers are a Forever Friends freebie I've never opened. Card is finished with some bakers twine and peel offs. All card and paper came from my bit box.

Challenges entered:
Kaboodle Doodles - squares or inchies (managed both)

Red and Green

I'm still at home! Spent most of the day waiting for a kitchen plan to materialise and will now have to spend tomorrow finalising it as it still needs tweeked somewhat - think I've got it sussed though and just hope the bloke pays attention!
Did have one bright spot today when postie arrived with a packet of ribbons which I had won courtesy of Crafty Ribbons last week - loads of narrow satin in all sorts of gorgeous colours :)

Any way onto cards, here's one I made earlier:

Made using baubles nesties, a Creative Expressions Merry Christmas stamp and a tartan bow. Simples!
The design is a happy accident as the first time I made it I intended embossing the larger bauble and realised halfway through the machine that I was using cut plates.

Challenges entered:
CHNC - baubles
The Paper Players - red and green CAS Christmas
Christmas Inspirations - diecuts or punches
Pretty Little Ribbon - anything goes
My Time to Craft - punches and dies

Lilac and Green

We've ended up spending an extra couple of nights at home in order to finalise the kitchen plan and iron out a few hiccups now all the walls are down. It's been a wee bit chilly and a bit of dust but overall not too bad and the workmen are very tidy and considerate :)
Got a bit of a fright tonight when the gas boiler went haywire five minutes after hubby left to take the dog a long walk - it made an unholy racket then the alarm went off - quick phone call to the builder who had the key to the garage and he popped straight round made it safe and went off to find the plumber who came round and put things right - so I'm glad we decided to stay an extra night!
A card I made yesterday:

Image is from LOTV, coloured with promarkers, highlighted with stickles. cut out with a labels two die, distressed with bundled sage and milled lavender DI then matted onto a silver mirri die. Halloween ATC

Spending an extra night at home as the kitchen designer is arriving first thing tomorrow so it didn't make sense to go away tonight and drive back in the morning. My old kitchen and the dining room have been completely dismantled, patio doors removed and new support beams fitted, wall knocked out between kitchen and new extension. The wall between the kitchen and dining room has still to come down and a double doorway to the hall has to be bricked up - we're getting there and although there's been a bit of dust today it hasn't been too bad.
I've managed to spend quite a lot of today crafting here is one of my makes:

Using a pyramage image (sitting in my spares box) from Joanna Sheen's ATC CD matted onto orange card and black glittery handmade paper (from my bit box).

Challenges entered:
Fun with ATC's - Halloween
Squigglefly - face your fears (the devil)

Exhausted.com

The builders will be knocking walls out of the house next week so my craft room has gone from this:

to this in the last couple of days:

My sitting room meanwhile is now doubling as a craft room - not a good look! The kitchen has been decanted to all corners of the house and now I'm exhausted. We're leaving home on Monday for a few days to stay at my Mum's down in North Northumberland as it's half term up here so hopefully we'll miss most of the mess.

I've managed a LIM card this afternoon with a bit of Chrissie's lateral thinking!

I was a bit stumped with this theme of cocktails - I know I have some chipboard and/or gel pieces of cocktail glasses but given all of the above I don't know where they are located. So I was sitting scratching my head when the idea of a peacock tail struck! I took a piece of A6 card and brayered it with a big and juicy ink pad then put it in the printer to overprint with the peacock image from Crafty Ann's and out popped a B&W photo of a peacock duh! I was about to redo it then wondered whether the glossy photo paper would brayer et voila this is what I ended up with.
Matted layers are cut with label one dies, Image has been mounted with pinflair gel and card is finished with a stamped sentiment and a bow.

Challenges entered:
Less is More - cocktails
Craft Your Passion - card for all occasions
