{Mixed Media Tutorial} Love Always

Good evening all.

My turn once more to produce a Mixed Media tutorial over at STAMPlorations and share some tips on how to use your stencils in your crafting.

Today I've upcycled another wooden stamp block...it will get turned into a photo holder once I get round to asking hubby to drill a hole in it!

Christmas Card Club - "Two or More Patterned Papers"

Good morning all. Hope everyone is well.

Margaret kindly asked us to use "Two or More Patterned Papers" at the Christmas Card Club this time. I've made a little headway into my Christmas themed patterned papers over the last two years but I still have a way to go before I'll need new supplies! A little nearer though after these three cards.

Papers and topper are from a Kaisercraft 6x6 pad...all simply matted and layered using dies from Spellbinders.

Two very similar cards made with LOTV toppers and sentiments, Bo Bunny papers and dies from Spellbinders. I used both the positive and negative parts of the holly border die. Cards are finished off with some stickles.

Seem to be managing to get my special cards made first this year instead of last...wonders will never cease!!

If you'd like to see what the other girls have created you'll find their links in my sidebar.

Stencil Sunday #87

Good evening all.

I think spring has definitely sprung here....lambs in the field, daffodils in the garden and lots of sunshine...still very cool and a tad windy at times but a definite step in the right direction 😃
(Although I haven't shed the winter woollies just yet!!)

I'm up on the STAMPlorations blog today with some more Stencil Sunday inspiration. Our March Mixed Media challenge is underway and we invite you to join us...making sure you use a stencil along the way.

Today I have a tag to share.

Using a piece of waste card from my first DI Oxide ink pad play I cut out the largest of the Luggage Tags Nesting Dies. I then used the Bold Florals Mini stencil and Broken China DI Oxide over the existing colours. Sentiment is from Noteworthy 2 stamp set....this was also stamped onto some of the waste card and then cut up. Crocheted flowers and ribbon from my stash.

Stencil Sunday #86 + March Mixed Media Challenge

Good evening all.

This is my second post today, if you'd like to see my project for the Christmas Card Club you'll find it here.

Another month gone by so it's time to dust your stencils off for a new Mixed Media challenge over at STAMPlorations.

I've upcycled a birthday book I won in a raffle for today's inspiration.

This is how it started life:

Nothing wrong with it but it was still ripe for a makeover. I started with some chalk paints to get good coverage. Then added some stencilling...first using Bubble Dance with gel medium, then Weaving with texture paste, once dry I added some hint of mint acrylic paint with a brayer. Next came the Happy Flowers stencil, I did the stems with Sparkle Medium then used texture paste for the flowers and added silver Metal Magic before removing the stencil and left everything to dry naturally. Once dry the flowers were heat embossed....I love the textured finish you get with the Metal Magic.
Using some papers from a Gelli printing session I die cut the Numbers and added them with gel medium. Stamps used for the background stamping are from the Art Marks set and the birthday stamp is part of a sentiment in the Party Time set..

We do hope you can come and join us this month...remember it's anything but a card and you must use a stencil.

Christmas Card Club - "Off the Wall"

Good morning all.

Zoe has given us girls the rather zany theme of "Off the Wall" this time at our little Christmas Card club.
I recycled one of last years Christmas cards to make this.

Eldest had asked for some cards for his brother and sister just before he left for Australia last year, as I had no spares I bought a pack of three at the garden centre. I decided to recycle them to make a card for him for this year!

The image was die cut then simply matted and layered with the smallest meercat being decoupaged. Backing paper from Papermania...still stash busting here!! Wooden Noel is from the Works.

If you'd like to see the other girl's makes you'll find links in my sidebar.

I'll be back later with some stencil inspiration for STAMPlorations Mixed Media Challenge.

TIME OUT Challenges 3rd Birthday

Good morning all.

I'm early on parade this morning! (Well I would have been, only we got the date wrong so I'm late for a very important date!).
Shery from STAMPlorations is one of the sponsors over at TIME OUT Challenges, where they are celebrating their 3rd birthday. A few of us DT girls are joining in with their theme of Love/Friendship with the optional twist of Spotlight Stamping.

I've used the new STAMPlorations Pocket Blooms stamp set...adding my spotlight stamping using a waste piece from my first play with my new DI Oxide ink pads. The XOXO die is also from STAMPlorations. Mat dies are from Spellbinders and Wplus9.

If you love STAMPlorations products or if you'd like to try them for the first time I have a discount code to share with you - STAMPGIRLCAROLD

This gives you a 20% discount on all stamps, stencils and dies...both regular and sale priced items. Please note this code can't be combined with any other code. It is valid for multiple uses whilst I'm a STAMPlorations Girl.

Card Chain Challenge - February Reveal

Good morning all.

Already into March...this year is stomping by at an alarming rate!! Our first daffodils are blooming and there is already lots of colour in the garden.

Today sees the reveal of the February Card Chain Challenge...I didn't manage to join in last year so was determined to make an effort for this year. Click on the link to find out more information and to see all the cards which were exchanged last month.

This is the card I sent to Betty in Nebraska, I in return received one from Jo in England.

I loosely followed the sketch and given colour scheme with the theme of friendship.
Dies are from Wplus9, STAMPlorations and Memory Box. Stencils are from STAMPlorations...used with DI. Sequins from my stash.
