Good morning all.
The weather was a bit showery yesterday so I had a day colouring....tried the skin colouring class again from Kit and Clowder and it just doesn't work for me, don't know whether I'm just over thinking the whole thing or what but it's very frustrating! I did manage to colour a couple of DT images satisfactorily so will get them made into their relevant projects today hopefully.

It's time for our next challenge over at the Christmas Card Club, it was Mary's turn to choose the theme this week and she's asked us for a "A Cardinal or other Christmas Bird".
The image and sentiment are "Winter Song Birdies" from the Doodle Pantry. I've coloured with promarkers before cutting with a nestie die....I thoroughly enjoyed colouring this in and was very pleased with the outcome. Backing papers are from Tilda and Papermania. Round dies are all Spellbinders; foliage dies are from Marianne Design. Red lacy seambinding is from Crafty Ribbons. Card is finished with stickles and pearls.
Inside all finished too! Probably not flat enough to post but it's good for hand delivering.
Do pop round and see what the other girls have made for this challenge, you'll find the links on my sidebar.

Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper - anything goes with patterned paper

ReplyDeleteThat image is stinking cute Carol. Love how you have coloured them and it does sound like you are trying a bit 'too hard'. I can do skin tone with alcohol pens but not hair lol! So I've been taking a long break from them. You have coloured these cuties perfectly and I love the added extra's too Karen x
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet, Carol - beautiful birds for Mary's CCC challenge - and thanks for sharing for all of my Craftyhazelnut's challenges. x
ReplyDeleteThis is an adorable image and you have coloured it so beautifully. I can see the shading is perfect.
ReplyDeleteI will check out that name you mentioned for classes as I am rubbish at colouring. I just can't see the light and shadow so need a paint by numbers way o do it!!! hahahah
Love your pretty design...It might surprise you and make it through the mail tester. Di of Pixies Crafty Workshop sent me a British tester as they do not sell those over here in Canada. The slot size width is the same here so I test each card. and then set them into 2 different baskets. One for flat postage and one for extra postage!
I checked my Cardinal card after I released the post...it did not make it so I switched the pearls for flatter ones and it made it through!
Beautiful card Carol!
Awww Carol this image is so cute!!! fab colouring too..huggles Sue xx
ReplyDeleteVery pretty card, love these colors together! I'm just starting the skin and hair class and am starting with the light source portion so haven't gotten as far as you have yet! I watched a portion of one of the live events (recording now since the actual live event is already over) and found that to be really helpful. She shows where she is laying each color down on the image.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous and love the cute little birds. I know how you feel about the class too I am finding it frustrating.

These sweet little bluebirds just made me smile (also made me remember some similar stamps I've got hiding away). Love the colors you've chosen to make them so happy, and the pretty die cuts & embellies too. A lovely card! TFS & making my bird interpretation such a beautiful one. Hugs
