Snowflake Winter

Good morning all, hope you're well.
Yesterday I spent several hours putting inserts into Christmas cards (why didn't I keep to my resolution!!) and trying to get ahead with some DT stuff. Today I'm going to try to finish all my DT work up until Christmas then maybe sort out the Christmas presents and start the wrapping! The shopping is going well - only one child to buy for when he produces his list!
Sadly The Happy Scrappers challenge has closed due to lack of participants but as I'd made my next layout I thought I'd show you it.

Layout produced in Craft Artist using a kit called Snowflake Winter from Twin Mom Scraps. Freya was probably about 8 months old when this photo was taken.

Challenges entered:
My Time to Craft - domestic pets
The Corrosive Challenge - anything goes
Oozak - winter vibes

Crafty Ann's #79 Birds/Animals

Just spent a lovely couple of nights down in York with my Mum, 3 younger sisters, my brother's wife and my niece. We arrived by train at lunchtime on Tuesday then spent the afternoon in the spa. Wednesday we shopped till we dropped - quite literally then had a meal at Jamie's Italian. Thursday morning we finished off the shopping before heading home on the early afternoon train shortly before all the bad weather set in. I was exhausted when I arrived home and very footsore!! I hope to catch up with everyone later today.

Another fortnight gone and it's time for a new challenge at  Crafty Ann's and this week we want to see all those birds and animals on your creations - no people allowed!

I've chosen to do a layout of Freya lying in the sun. I've used papers and elements from Sweet Sage, Rhapsody in Blue and Tempting Turquoise scrapping kits - these are all available from Crafty Ann's Digi Shop. All the digi kit prices have been reduced in the shop and are now 95p or less each - you get loads with each kit and they all work well together. Ann also has a couple of freebies available if you'd like to try before you buy.

This layout was produced in Craft Artist.

Do pop over to the challenge blog to see Ann and the teams creations, you won't be disappointed.

Crafting for all Seasons #40 Thank You Card

Time for a new challenge at CFAS and this time the theme is Thank You cards. We're  looking forward to seeing all your makes. We're being sponsored by Bugaboo and Pure Innocence Stamps. I've used an image from Pure Innocence Stamps.

I think my fellow DT members may have thought I'd flipped completely when I requested a snowman image for a thank you challenge.......but there was method in my madness. I needed a festive card for a card swap for November so killing two birds with one stone and all that lol.
Image is coloured with promarkers before being die cut with an oval nestie and layered onto a scalloped nestie which I've coloured with distress ink. Papers were a magazine freebie. Lattice dies are from Marianne Design, snowflake from Memory Box and punch from Martha Stewart. Ribbon, peel off sentiment and silver gem from my stash.

Guess who forgot to check which way round the base card was before sticking the BP down securely...yep that would be me! At least it was completely upside down and not just at right angles. So if my layout looks a little odd that's why!!

Do pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the girls inspiration, you won't be disappointed.

Lest we Forget

Made to honour my great Uncle...
The soldier was my Granny's brother who died during the First World War. He is buried at Grave 330 Sedan (St Charles) Communal Cemetery, Ardennes, France. My eldest son took a detour by the cemetery when he set off on the Mongol Rally earlier this year and took some photographs for me to add to the family tree. We believe he is the first family member to ever visit the grave. The quotes were made by him when he uploaded his photos to Facebook.

The kit was a freebie called Poppies which I found on the Daisytrail forum by a member called Bloggs and the layout was produced in Craft Artist.

In Flanders Field
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago

We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:

To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

It's the Snow Angels turn this week and it was Miranda's turn to design the sketch this time. We are being sponsored by Delicious Doodles and the Design Team were given some images to work with.

My image is called Little Angel which I digitally pieced using papers from Crafty Ann's, then touched up with promarkers and stickles after printing. Card is finished with some gems, stickles, a poinsettia and a sentiment from my stash.

Christmas Card Club - sugar and spice and all things nice

I can't believe it's Christmas Card Club time again and this week Zoe chose the theme sugar and spice and all things nice.

Please excuse the awful photograph, today has been one of those days I wish I'd stayed well clear of the craft room as nothing has gone right! Shortly after printing this out my printer decided to take a wobbly, lets hope it's only temporary!! My card is made digitally in Craft Artist using  a kit called Festive Cookies from Daisy Trail.......can't think of anything more sugary, spicy and nice than a gingerbread man! Great challenge Zoe :)
