Cute as a Button

Good morning all. I had a lovely day at the SECC yesterday, didn't find what I went for but brought plenty of other things home! Met up with a few crafty friends for a chat at lunchtime and put the world to rights lol. I was very tired by the time I got home though. I hope you're sitting comfortably as this may be a long post!

I was lucky enough to receive a bag ribbons in Ali's Baby Washing Line challenge at Crafty Ribbons a couple of weeks ago and I chose the blue selection. I hand delivered my projects to Ali yesterday as they have a stand at the SECC this weekend.

My first make was a scrapbook page using a photo of my younger son when he was about 10 weeks old - he was such a photogenic child and always looked gorgeous in blue...........he's now a cute photo shy 19 year old!!

The papers were from Heidi Grace and these have been hoarded for several years! Ali wanted to see the ribbons used as a focal point as opposed to an embellishment - I hope I achieved that!

I used a button with some 3mm ribbon threaded through as a centre for the flower.

A little ribbon weaving in the corner.

I was rather disappointed to find my button border embossing folder doesn't line up straight back and front so I couldn't get a clean emboss with it!

He was a little cutie and was always smiling!

I decoupaged the washing line ribbon to give it a bit of dimension.

The ribbons were fabulous to work with and I had to buy myself a blue and a pink set yesterday so I could do layouts to keep for myself of both the boys and my daughter.

Challenges entered:
Charisma Cardz - ribbons (14 pieces used)
Moving along with the times - cute as a button
Willow Sketchie - sketch or ribbon/twine
Creative Inspiration Paints - inspired by family
Divas by Design - favourite things (son, baby and lots of ribbon)
Little Red Wagon - bob and weave
Scrappy Frogs - seeing spots
The Crafter's Cafe - ribbon and/or lace

Carol x

PS I will draw and announce the candy winner once I get my purchases sorted from yesterday and manage to photograph the prize.
