Christmas Card Club "Anything Goes"

Good morning all....and a Happy Halloween. It's going to be a quiet night here as we're so far off the beaten track and all the regular trick or treaters arriving at the old house will be disappointed to find it empty this year.

I'm a day late posting my card for the Christmas Card Club...better late than never though! Sylvie has given us the easy theme of "Anything Goes" so I took the opportunity to get one of my special cards made.

Using up some older stash! Topper and sentiment stamp from LOTV, papers and bow from Papermania, dies from Spellbinders and Lawn Fawn, charm, snowflake and gems from my stash.

Lots of layers and dimension since postage isn't an issue.

If you'd like to see what the other girls made you'll find a list in my sidebar (assuming blogger hasn't eaten it again!).

Stencil Sunday #70

Good afternoon all.

It's my turn once more to inspire everyone to use their stencils over at STAMPlorations. Today I'm showing you what I made with the mood board featured in last months tutorial.

Background made using Big BloomFactory (large) and Leaf Bliss (large) stencils and Mixed Media Background stamps.

I used a Spellbinders die to cut the box, then cut a tag using the smaller die from the Luggage Tags nesting dies. I stamped a flower from the Big Bloom Factory stamp set and heat embossed with white detail EP, this was placed over the matching flower of the stencil. Sentiment is from Fond Expressions 2.

You still have a couple of days to join our mixed media challenge this month but do remember we accept non-card projects only....and you must use a stencil!

Christmas Card Club - Sentiment as Focus

Good morning all.

Sorry I'm being such a bad blogger, life seems to be getting in the way at the moment plus the computer is in the wrong place and that can't be changed until sometime next year when we rebuild the conservatory :( I just can't seem to use my IPad for blogging, it just seems needlessly complicated!

It's time once more for our little Christmas Card Club to strut their stuff and this time it was my turn to pick the theme and I chose "Sentiment as Focus". I've missed the last four challenges (sorry ladies) but need to catch up to get my cards finished on time! I got some new stamps a few weeks ago and managed to put them to good use....and made six cards!

Sentiment stamp is from Woodware; simply stamped and fussy cut before matting and layering, then adding a bow to finish.

Two in green..and two in red!

Was going to say if you'd like to see what the other girls have produced you'll find the links in my sidebar....but blogger ate them and I haven't had time to redo them yet!!! Has anyone else had that problem??

Stencil Sunday #66 + October Mixed Media Challenge

Good afternoon all. Sorry I'm being such a bad blogger at present, hoping to resume some sort of normality soon!!

Our old house went on the market at the end of last week and we had our first two viewings this morning, so fingers crossed we get a quick sale.

I'm sure someone has stolen a few pages off my calendar this year (perhaps the same gremlin who's stolen the blog lists off my sidebar!!)...it can't possibly be October already. As it's the first Sunday we have the start of our Mixed Media Challenge over at STAMPlorations where we invite you to participate and show us how you've used your stencils on anything mixed media but a card. I've made a canvas for my inspiration piece.

I started by painting a grungy background with several shades of acrylic paint and my brayer, once dry I used some the Mixed Media Elements stamps with Archival inks to add some detail.

Then it was time to get out one of my favourite stencils...Happy Flowers (large). I used Sparkle Medium on the stems and once dry I replaced the stencil and used Radiant Gels for the blooms. After drying thoroughly I applied some TH Distress Collage Medium over the canvas. The quote stamps comes from a brand new set called Life in Full Colour...which arrived in the post yesterday!

Do pop over to the blog to see what the other girls have made, you won't be disappointed!
